What the week actually is

Girls leave STEM in the middle-school years at a rate that has nothing to do with ability and everything to do with who is talking in the room. A girls-only week changes who answers, who leads the build, and who is still there in ninth grade.

Day by day

  1. Pick the problem and write the prediction
  2. First build, first failure
  3. Diagnose what actually went wrong
  4. Rebuild and test against the prediction
  5. Showcase: explain it to the room

Questions we get from Frederick, MD

Is the content different?
No. The room is different.
Why does that matter?
Because participation patterns set in these years, and confidence built here shows up in course selection later.
Are there women instructors?
Yes, and the material draws on working engineers and scientists rather than historical figures alone.
